Here’s a simple timeline many new Muslims follow with AMCC support:

  1. Connect with AMCC by telling us where you are in your journey—exploring Islam, researching, or newly Muslim
  2. Meet your New Muslim Buddy and get a friendly person to answer questions, plus a plan for what to learn first
  3. Start “New Muslim 101” basics focused on core beliefs, prayer, Wudu and worship etiquette, Quran reading basics, and everyday Islamic essentials

  5. Join community connection moments at a pace that feels right

New Muslim 101: learn Islam at your pace

Whether you’re exploring Islam or refreshing the basics after conversion, AMCC’s learning is designed to be practical and supportive.

Explore Islam with Islam: Beliefs and Teachings

You’ll receive clear explanations and guidance around foundational faith topics, such as what Muslims believe and why, how worship fits into daily life, and how Quran and Sunnah guide Muslim living.

Prayer & daily worship essentials

You’ll get hands-on help with how to start praying, what to do during salat, and Wudu basics—so you feel prepared and confident.

Quran basics for beginners

You’ll get guidance on where to begin, how to read with understanding (step-by-step), and what to focus on first so you don’t feel lost.

Islamic etiquette and everyday living

Support includes real-life guidance like masjid etiquette, how to dress modestly (as applicable and with respectful options), how to approach learning respectfully, and how to ask questions when you’re unsure.

Worship support: help with Wudu and salat

Many people hesitate to visit a masjid because they worry about “doing it wrong.” AMCC’s New Muslims Program is built to remove that fear.

  • Wudu steps and common questions
  • Salat basics and what you should remember
  • How to join prayer respectfully (including what to do if you’re still learning)

Live sessions & learning moments (with space for questions)

AMCC supports structured learning through short classes for beginners, video/live sessions with Q&A, and “bring a friend” opportunities for supportive introductions.

Family support & next steps (so learning continues at home)

Conversion and exploration impact family life—so AMCC supports the whole journey, not just the masjid visit.

  • What to do next at home (simple learning routines)
  • How to talk with family members respectfully
  • Connecting children/families to appropriate Islamic education pathways
  • Counseling referrals if emotional or personal support is needed

Zakat & welfare support (available when applicable)

If you’re facing hardship while learning Islam, AMCC can guide you toward appropriate community resources and assistance pathways—aligned with Islamic principles and community care.

For related support, AMCC can connect you with Zakat Assistance resources where applicable.

Community connection in Longwood & Orlando

Learning is important—but belonging matters too.

AMCC helps new Muslims feel safe and welcomed through introductions that don’t feel awkward, community gatherings and warm moments, and sisters circles (where available).

  • Connection to sisters programs, youth support, and community activities
  • Warm, safe introductions—especially helpful for new faces
  • New Muslim meet-ups and “bring a friend” style invitations

If you want help finding your people, you’re in the right place.

What to expect when you visit AMCC

If it’s your first time, here’s what to anticipate:

  • A warm welcome and clear instructions
  • Support for where to go and who to ask
  • Guidance on prayer basics and comfort
  • Opportunities to meet the right people—especially if you’d prefer a slower start
